My mom is a major role model for me in numerous ways. She has always been the person I come to talk about my problems, she was my rock during the pandemic and she has deeply cared about my mental health my whole life. She also is such a careful and serious Jew and she really cares about upholding the traditions she was taught as a little girl.

Her advice to me: It’s hard when people are pushing one approach and you disagree. You may be short of patience but you should still do your best.

Apologize. It never hurts.

Everyone makes mistakes and it’s ok if you own them.
