You may think you know everything after your first child, but a subsequent one will teach you that no, you don’t actually know everything.

Always set a backup alarm, and a backup to that.

People are going to tell you what to do and what not to do. Other than actual safety measures, you don’t have to follow anyone else’s advice.

Build a village, especially if you don’t have reliable family nearby.

Be flexible and make memories. It’s ok to let bedtime go a little late because of something special. It’s ok to have a mess because you were being present with the kids. You won’t get the time back with them.

Love your kids no matter what.
